One of the first lessons we have to learn on our pathway to good fisherdom is the almighty "hook set." I was so proud to see my son consistently setting the hook on fish. We made the trip to Mackay Reservoir to chase some kokanee, and maybe even some trout, through the ice. The kokes came out to play, but there was no love from the trout. Will was an animal. He was jigging his own pole, setting the hook on, and landing his own fish! There were a few times when I would turn around and be surprised to see him reeling in a fish. This kid is 4 YEARS OLD, and he has already started to develop some fishsense.
Here is a glimpse of Will's awesomeness...
That's awesome! He's better at hooking those kokanee than I am!
ReplyDeletei dont know how many times I have watch this but I love it. Cant wait to get back to Idaho my friend, the waters here are blown out.
ReplyDeleteJosh, it's a bummer you had to go so soon. You could have met your goal easily with the kokanee!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great video and a cute kid catching fish!
